Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off from Kampala and head to Queen Elizabeth national park; located on the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori in Kasese using the Masaka-Mbarara road. Stop over at Mpambire drum makers and the equator for photographs. Go on to Queen Elizabeth, after check in and take some time off to relax.
Day 2: Game drive and Launch Cruise
Wake up early, take breakfast then start with a game view to Kasenyi plains. You are likely to see black and white Colobus monkey, bush buck, Uganda Kobs, topis, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes. A collection of birds like Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. After your packed lunch, go for a launch cruise at Kazinga channel along Lake George-Lake Edward, come where you have a look at hippos, crocodiles, leopards though infrequent. And over 550 resident of bird species like flamingos, red chest, papyrus Gonolek, pink backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, pink backed pelicans, water thick-knee, yellow billed stork, shoebill stock.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Crater Lake Experience
After taking breakfast, depart from Queen Elizabeth to Kibale National Park. Kibale forest national Park has the highest concentration of primates in East Africa with 13 species and overall 60 mammal species and so far offers the best excellent chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. In the evening, you will visit the crater region and go back to the lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland.
After morning breakfast, wake up early to trek chimps. There are primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, red Colobus and blue monkeys. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird species. There is also an array of butterfly species.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer back to Kampala. Stopover in Fort Portal where you can take lunch. Then proceed to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.
