14 DAY EXPLORE UGANDA SAFARI

 

Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.

Meet your safari guide and leave Entebbe/Kampala in the morning for you Explore Uganda safari. The target for the day is Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. We arrive for lunch in the sanctuary before having a walk to see the rhinos up-close. After Rhino trekking evening at the lodge.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After breakfast you set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Be there around lunch time. When you have finished your lunch it is time to experience the top of the falls. It is an amazing feeling to stand their enjoying the view and hearing the water roar. Have a relaxed evening at the lodge.

 

Day 3: Game-drive and boat-cruise in Murchison Falls National Park.

Get up early in the morning to meet the animals of the savanna. During this morning game-drive you will see giraffes, elephants, lions and more. In the afternoon it is time for a boat-cruise on the mighty Nile spotting for example hippos, crocodiles and birds on the shores. Spend the night in Budongo forest (part of Murchison Falls) to get close to the jungle.

Day 4: Transfer to Hoima

Have a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. After breakfast your guides take you to the town of Hoima. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel. Hoima town it’s one of the big towns in the western Uganda and you can spend your evening around town.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Be prepared for a long day in the car made easier by making a stop in a village to stretch your legs, taking a look at a tea plantation and studying the Ugandan countryside passing by the window. Here you can have a stopover at Fort portal town the first cleanest town in Uganda.

Day 6: Chimps trekking in Kibale Forest National Park.

Be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and get ready for your chimps trekking experience. Your guide takes you to the starting point and you set off in to the beautiful jungle to see the chimpanzees. After the chimps trekking your guide meets you and takes you to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 7: Game-drive and boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up early in the morning for a game-drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth national park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds and more. After lunch your guide takes you to the afternoon boat-cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is a great highlight were you for example can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 8: Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth national park in the morning. The drive there goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you find topis, buffaloes and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game-drive the journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

In the morning, you will set off for the highlight of this Explore Uganda safari; the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set of for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are and you get to spent one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 10: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. Here you can have a walk and visit locals for local entertainment.

 

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo National Park where you will take a relaxed evening.

Day 12: Safari-walk and game-drive in Lake Mburo National Park

Start the day early with a safari-walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Get the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game-drive in the park, here you can see impalas and zebras. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks on this Explore Uganda safari.

Day 13: Transfer to Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side on the southern and northern hemisphere. After the last part of the drive to Kampala your guide takes you to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon/evening.

 

Day 14: Kampala City tour and flight

Go for a city tour of Kampala before heading to Entebbe for your flight. The city tour can be adapted to your interests of crafts shopping, cultural sights or community tourism. The length of the city tour depends on your flight time and your guide will transfer you to Entebbe in time for check-in.


19 DAYS – TOUR UGANDA SAFARI

 

Day 1: Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast transfer to Jinja. Visit the virgin and dramatic Itanda falls where you are entertained by the kayaking boys as they tussle the big rapids, enjoy Half day rafting as you watch the birds among others. Drive to the source of the Nile where you will take a boat ride around source of the River Nile where it dramatically separates from lake Victoria, the stream of water will start running towards the North forming the Victoria Nile co-joining with the Albert Nile in the Murchison falls National Park to Sudan to meet the Blue and White Nile and continue through Egypt to the Mediterranean sea.

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls

Transfer to Mbale town where we shall stop briefly for lunch. From Mbale we shall drive straight to Sipi. We shall have an evening nature walk and Hike where we shall visit the three falls that make up Sipi. The visit of the three falls involves hiking a trail network that is characterized by a steep and slippery path, mud on rainy days, climbing ladders and going through farms.

Day 3:– Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via the Luwero triangle and Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of trekking the endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Have an Early Morning breakfast and Transfer to Kidepo valley National Park reaching late afternoon to check in for dinner at the Lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and community walk

Take an early morning game drive in the morning to see the lions, cheetah, always surrounded by Zebra, Waterbuck, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Warthogs, Patas monkeys and big herds of Buffalo.

Have Early Lunch prepared at The Bandas and Proceed for an afternoon Half day to the communities, Visit the Karamojong manyatta. Get an insight of their daily lives, the way their homes are constructed and much more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After your early morning breakfast drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park driving via Gulu. Later continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving at your lodge late afternoon.

Day 7: Games Drives and Boat cruise

early in the morning after breakfast, go for your game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile in your open-roof vehicle which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the schools of hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.  After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may choose to continue to the top of the falls, where you will have the amazing view of the falls! See where the Nile -world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft  in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

Day 8: Transfer to Hoima

After a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. Thereafter, your guide will take you to the Hoima town. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your morning breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park through verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads, farms and Tea Estates. You will have a stopover for lunch en-route. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Trekking day

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale is also a home to the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.  

After lunch, go for Bigodi swamp walk, it protects around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus Gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked mangabey. The guided walk is led by experienced local guides who interact with the guests and make the trip both enjoyable and exciting.

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast at your lodge before you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. Your expert driver guide will take you through the game park where you might spot some animals. Upon arriving at your lodge.

You will enjoy a hot lunch and later in the afternoon take a unique boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species. 

Day 12: Game Drive and bat Cave Exploration

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent opportunities to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, Defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck. The game drives is memorable methods of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife. 

Afternoon Nature walk to the bat and hunters cave at where we take a close look at the bats, rock python and forest cobras. The same walk will provide a chance of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and your last overnight stay.

Day 13: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park via Ishasha

 After your breakfast, Transfer to take a drive in Ishasha plains for your final visit with the lions and other wildlife continue to Bwindi.  The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Check into the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 14: Gorilla Trekking day and Community Walk

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a community walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast drive to Lake Bunyonyi which has breathtaking scenery. Spend the night overlooking Uganda deepest lake, where you may try your hand at paddling at dugout canoe, or eating fresh water crayfish. 

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest National Park of Uganda. Though being small, it has a lot offer!!  Centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes its birdlife is very rich.  The green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like Zebra, warthog, Eland, Impala, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles!

You will arrive at the Hotel/lodge in the time for lunch.  Later in the afternoon enjoy the boat ride on Lake Mburo and get quite close to the crocodiles and hippos. As you return to your Hotel.

Day 17: Farm Tour and Safari Walk in the Park

 After breakfast transfer to the Farm and watch or participate in the Milking of the Ankole long horned Cattle, return for full breakfast at the Hotel and later enjoy your lunch and afternoon transfer to the Park for a safari walk under the escort of an armed ranger. The Kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflage klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably.  It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.

Day 18: Game drive and Transfer to Kampala

After a morning breakfast, you will go for a game drive where you will spot impalas, zebras among others and then transfer to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time.  Take some photos, then another stop over at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations arriving in the afternoon.

Day 19: Brief City Tour and Departure

After a breakfast, go for a city tour to Hike the Famous Gadhafi Mosque Tower. The Kampala’s Tallest Tower and view the original Rolling hills enveloped on with great Villas and numerous slums, return to have an Owino Market walk and mix with the Drama of Marketing with the Locals. Then transfer to the airport for the flight back


 

13 DAYS EXPLORE UGANDA SAFARI

Day 1:  Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

 After an early breakfast, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via the Luwero triangle and Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of trekking the endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison falls National Park.

Have your early morning breakfast. Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. After lunch, drive to the   top of the Murchison falls – a beautiful view for those who love taking pictures! View how the longest river Nile explodes through a narrow ravine from a 100 meter gorge to a 35 meters wide gorge. 

Day 3: Game drive and Boat ride

Early in the morning, prepare your selves for a game drive.  You will search for buffaloes, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Kobs, water-bucks, oribi, lions, hyena, a leopard if lucky and the birds. Returns to the lodge relax until lunch time. After lunch, head for a Boat ride along Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls.  The Murchison Falls are an astounding flaunt of the supremacy of scenery.  Expect to see the Nile crocodiles, hippos, bird species and buffaloes, elephants drinking along the Nile. Return to the lodge of dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Hoima

After a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. Thereafter, your guide will take you to the Hoima town. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel.

Day 5: Transfer Kibale forest national park via Fort Portal 

Have breakfast and head to Fort Portal. Go for a city tour and visit the Amabeere Ganyinamwiru which is a limestone place full of stalagmites and stalactites. These are traditionally known as the breasts of Nyinamwiru the mother of the first king of Bachwezi. Visit also the crater lakes in the area.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk in Bigodi

After breakfast, head to Kibale National park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee tracking and then slope into the forest and start looking for the chimpanzees. While looking for the chimpanzees, you will be able to view other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest. View how the chimpanzees jump from one tree to another and how they pick fruits from trees. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a swamp walk and view the different primates and bird species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for a number of wildlife like the hippos, buffaloes, elephants, Kobs and a number of bird species. Visit the crater lakes like Lake Katwe famous for salt and continue for lunch. Have lunch at the lodge then head to the Kazinga channel for the boat cruise that may give you the opportunity to see Crocodiles, Hippos, water birds and land mammal at the water’s edge.

Day 8:  Game drive and launch cruise

After Early morning breakfast, go for a game drive and view the early raisers like the lions, water bucks, warthogs, buffaloes, Hippos  and birds  mostly those that are found mainly in the Albertine  rift valley. The park boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps. Return to the lodge and have breakfast. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel and view a number of water birds, elephants, buffaloes drinking from the shores of the lake.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park famous for the rare mountain gorillas. The park has 8 habituated groups which visitors are allowed to visit and one for scientists and researchers. Pass through the Ishasha sector which is found in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge depending on the gorilla group to be tracked.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking  and Village walk to the Batwa area.

After breakfast and with packed lunch, go for briefing by park ranger guides about gorilla tracking at the park headquarters. Hike into the forest and start looking for the gorillas starting from where they were last seen the previous day. When you come across them, spend one hour with the gorillas and see how they feed, play with each other. Gorilla trekking can take 8 hours depending on the kind of weather and where the gorillas are. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi  

Lake Bunyonyi is not only the deepest Lake in Uganda but the most beautiful I should admit. One is simply mesmerized by its striking supernatural beauty as it snakes along Uganda’s scenery by rings of terraced farms only to realize foliage enunciating, this awesome lake as a gorgeous outskirt.  Lake Bunyonyi which gets its name Bunyonyi from  a local word which means “place of bird” is a bracing place  of solace , comfort, reflection name it. It was named Bunyonyi because it is a home to so many bird species. 

 

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Take your breakfast and head off to Lake Mburo National Park.  This park is a famous home to a large population of Zebras and impalas. The park also has a number of Uganda Kobs, impalas, bush-bucks, dickers and antelopes.  Have lunch and then in the afternoon, go for a game drive game in Lake Mburo National park. Its landscape is beautiful and it includes; lakes, Savanna, wetlands, Acacia tree all   favoring the perfect home for bird species.  Lake Mburo Np is a home to over 313 different types of birds which include; see the White -Winged Warbler, the Nubian Woodpecker, spot the Brown parrot, search for the crested Francolin, the Barefaced Go-away bird, the Greenwood Hoopoe, the Nubian Woodpecker, the African-grey Horn-bill, Trilling Cisticolas, the Red necked spur fowl, African-Wattled Plover Rufous napped and Yellow-throat Long claw among others.

Day 13: Safari Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.

Having an early morning go for a safari/nature walk in Lake Mburo National park. Lake Mburo Np is a home to over 313 different types of birds which include; see the White -Winged Warbler, spot the Brown parrot, search for the crested Francolin,  common Quails, the Barefaced Go-away bird, the Greenwood Hoopoe,  the Barefaced Go-away bird,  the Nubian Woodpecker, the African-grey Horn-bill, Trilling Cisticolas, the Lilac-breasted Roller, Black Bellied Bustard, the Red necked spur fowl, African-Wattled Plover Rufous napped,  Southern Red Bishop,  Rufous chested Swallow and Yellow-throat Long claw and beautiful animal species. You will have a stopover at the equator for memorable photographs and then proceed to the airport for the flight back.

 
   

16 DAY GRAND SAFARI TO UGANDA

 

Day 1: Transfer to Jinja Source of the Nile

Early in the morning, set off to the source of the longest river on planet earth. You will drive to Jinja via Kampala. The journey will take you through small towns, tropical rain forest, road side markets, and tea and sugar plantations arriving in time for a lunch break and a boat ride to the source of the Nile.

Day 2: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of tracking these endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Budongo Forest which is part of the larger Murchison Falls National Park, you will then drive to Murchison Falls via the top of the falls to see how Nile waters squeeze themselves into a narrow gorge to explode into what has been called the strongest and powerful waterfalls on planet Earth.

Day 4: game drives and Boat Cruise on the Nile

You will wake up early for a morning game drive to the northern banks of River Nile. This side of the park provides an opportunity to spot several antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, buffaloes, and if luck, big cats such as leopards and lions. Return to the lodge for lunch and then a boat cruise to the base of the falls. On your way from the jetty point to the bottom of the falls, you will spot several herds of buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, water bird species and other wild animals as they flock River Nile to drink water. Continue upstream to the base of the falls to observe how water squeezes in a narrow gorge to later explode in what has been referred to the strongest and powerful falls on planet earth. Return to the Lodge for overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

You will drive to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal town for Lunch before checking in at Rwenzori View Guest House. No major activity these day but if time allows, you may drive around Fort Portal town.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters at Kanyakyu to join other trekkers for briefing and eventual chimpanzee trekking. You will be led by a well-trained ranger/guide who will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. This forest provides an opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities/part of chimpanzees and spend an hour with them observing and taking photographs. Kibale National Park is home to other 11 primate species coupled with forest birds. After your chimpanzee trek, you will drive to Bigodi Village for a wetland walk that was designed to benefit the local community living around Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, your will drive from Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have an opportunity of passing through small towns, seeing several foothills of Mountain Rwenzori, small rivers that originate from Rwenzori mountain ranges as well as crossing the equator at Kikorongo. Check in at Lodge, relax as you prepare for afternoon game drive in Mweya. This section of Queen Elizabeth National Park is endowed with Antelopes, Buffaloes, Warthogs, elephants and many other wild animals including lions and leopards whose sight depends on your luck since this is nature.

Day 8: Game drive and Boat Cruise

After an early morning cup of tea, you will drive back to Kasenyi plains for a game drive to catch up with what you could have missed out on your earlier game drive. It’s this time of the morning that big cats are out hunting for their prey and as such chances of spotting lions and or leopards are slightly high. Never the less, you will be guaranteed to see buffaloes, hippos, several species of antelopes, and many others. You may return to the lodge for lunch or drive directly to Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This two hour boat cruise is one of the highlights in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It provides you an opportunity to view over 300 out of the 600 water bird species recorded here, antelopes, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and hippos

Day 9: Kyambura Chimp trekking and Katwe salt mines

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kyambura to join other trekkers for briefing and their after start you chimpanzee walk in the gorge. Your experienced ranger guide will help you identify several flora and fauna resident in this gorge and once you find a community of chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them for photography. Return back from the trek for lunch and short relaxation at the lodge before moving out again to visit Lake Katwe salt mines. Lake Katwe is an explosive crate which is gifted with salt and it’s the local community that mines/extracts salt from this lake. The local community guide will take you for a tour around salt mines explaining how salt extraction is done, challenges faced and opportunities available. Lake Katwe salt extraction project is one of the live examples supporting Queen Elizabeth as one of the conservation areas in the whole world where man is sustainably co-existing harmoniously with wildlife.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector.

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park famous for the rare mountain gorillas. The park has 8 habituated groups which visitors are allowed to visit and one for scientists and researchers. Pass through the Ishasha sector which is found in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking and community walk.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters to join others for gorilla family allocation and full briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. After that, you will be driven to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the impenetrable Bwindi Forest. This trek may take from 30 minutes to three quarters of the day depending on where mountain gorillas will be. Thus gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, the experience will be worth it and you will be allowed one hour of observation and photography.  You will then return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort of helping to conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation followed by a village walk to learn more about the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District. Bunyonyi locally means small birds due to the abundance of small birds in this area. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in East Africa. A person visit Lake Bunyonyi for its beauty and is one of the best place to relax after your gorilla trek.

Day 13: Canoeing or Hiking.

After breakfast, you are free to admire the beauty of the lake and its surrounding hills. You will have a choice of either taking a canoe ride on the lake to explore different island with exciting history. You will for example visit the Punishment Island where girls who would produce babies out of legitimate tradition marriage would be dumped and left to die. This is a whole day activity and you will surely enjoy it. Alternatively, you can hike one of the hills around Lake Bunyonyi. Encounter Africa Safaris supports some projects so those who want to do something on their tour can go for volunteer work.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo Cultural center to learn more about the cultures of ethnic groups in western Uganda. Lunch will be served en route arrive at Lake Mburo National Park for a boat cruise on the Lake followed by an evening game drive. Lake Mburo National Park is popular for animals such as impalas, Giraffes, Zebras and so much more. Return to the Lodge for overnight.

Day 15: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala.

After breakfast, you will go for a guided nature walk with an armed ranger where you will see animals like as impalas, Giraffes, Zebras and so much more. Afternoon, proceed the journey to Kampala with a stop at the Equator crossing for photography and stretching.

Day 16: City Tour and Transfer to the Airport.

You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, have a brief city tour of Kampala, enjoy lunch and later transfer to the Airport.

 
   

 

19 DAYS – UGANDA’S WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

Day 1: Visit Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary.

 After you breakfast at the hotel/lodge, you will be transferred to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. You will leave the mainland, cross by the ferry and do the afternoon chimpanzee feeding after cross back to the mainland.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja.

 After breakfast in the morning, Morning chimpanzee feeding will be carried out and later return to the mainland. You will have lunch enroute while being transferred to the Jinja highway toward Jinja.  When you arrive at arrive at Mabira Forest, you will like this magnificent forest with its trees, small mammals, birds, butterflies fauna and flora. You will be led along by a ranger who is well versed in Mabira, birds, butterflies, plants and wildlife.

Day 3: White water rafting.

 After morning breakfast, you will go to the Bujagali Falls for white water rafting. You will spend the morning bouncing over, through and under the water during this activity. You will stop to have lunch at the Hotel and then visit the Source of the Nile and see where John Speke discovered what is known today as the Source of the Nile. You can take a boat ride on the Nile and go right to where Lake Victoria and the Nile meet. You will have and lots of opportunities to take pictures from flowers to the Nile and its fishermen.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Leaving for Murchison Falls National Park will be in the morning. When driving, the Panorama is interesting. You will have lunch at the Lodge. You will take a late afternoon game drive and most likely be astonished by the variety of wildlife that you will encounter along drive. 

Day 5: Game drives and Boat ride

You will have an early breakfast and take off for a morning game drive.  You will be able to see the sun rise over the savanna and enjoy, giraffes, buffalos, birds the lions, antelopes, elephants and more along the way. After a packed lunch, you will enjoy afternoon boat ride on the Nile and often the highlight of the trip to Murchison Falls National Park.  Feel free to take pictures of crocodiles, birds, monkeys, elephants hippos, buffalos and of course the fabulous falls themselves.

Day 6: Transfer to Semliki National Park 

You will be driven early in the morning to Semuliki National Park. This is the only national park in Uganda where you can go for a night drive to view many cats, white tailed mongoose, slim mongoose and minuscule genet, after having dinner, you will go on a night drive. This game drive will yield the nightjars which are very uncommon to see during the day and much nocturnal wildlife

Day 7: Birding and Lake Albert boat ride 

You will have a boat trip on Lake Albert with your packed lunch. You will observe the colonies of Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin, Nkulengu Rail, Western Bronze-napped Pigeon, Black-collared Lovebird, Red-throated bee-eaters dart, Spot-breasted Ibis, Hartlaubs’s Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshawk, Red-thighed Sparrow hawk and many others. Then have lunch at the waterfalls which provide a great picnic spot. Have views of several fishing villages along the way, and a visit at the tribal community at the foothills of the Rwenzori’s, where the locals look forward to welcoming and entertaining visitors. Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale forest national park 

After early breakfast, drive to Fort portal with lunch enroute. You will drive through traditional homesteads and farms and this will enable you enjoy the beautiful scenery across that part of the country. You will have a leisurely late afternoon hike around the town and return in time

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking day AND Bigodi swamp visit

With your packed lunch, find your way to the forest after being briefed by the experienced guide who will lead you while trekking. In the park, you may have a view of all the primates like  Blue, Black faced Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons and an incredible array of bird life, including the Great Blue Turaco, Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys. In the afternoon, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that live in the swamp.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and boat cruise

After breakfast, enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is situated at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountain, interspersed with patches of forest and crater lakes thus a thought for a safari. At your arrival, carry out a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. You will scrutinize the concentration of water birds, hippos and crocodiles which is amazing. The bird species includes the black bee- eater, various types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more.

Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and Game drive

Have an early morning breakfast and set off to Kyambura gorge for another experience of the chimpanzees. During the drive, you will also have a great opportunity to spot black-and-white colobus monkeys and a few more of those 600 bird species that have been registered in the park. In the afternoon, go for game drive in the Park, to see wildlife like elephants, lions, Uganda Kobs, spotted hyenas and the leopard plus many others

Day 12: game drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

In the morning you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Queen Elizabeth’s southern Ishasha sector. Have hope of watching the tree climbing lions and the elusive leopards.  This is a dry and wild savannah region, much less developed than the Mweya peninsula. The game viewing is very good due to the fact that the region is well known for the tree climbing lions.

Day 13: Gorilla trekking day and Pygmy visit

We shall enter the sanctuary at dawn and enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas. After a crumb briefing by the experienced guides, we shall then proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals called the great Apes (Gorillas). Other primates also inhabit in the forest including the red tail monkey, chimpanzee and black-and-white colobus monkey. This can be very tiring because the ground is steep and densely forested. In the evening, you will have community walk to experience the living standards of pygmies.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, drive to the beautiful and deepest lake in Uganda with scenic view islands for leisure visit various islands of Lake Bunyonyi for bird watching and communities living on amazing islands.

Day 15: Relaxation day at Lake Bunyonyi

After a relaxed breakfast, go for Boat ride heading to Batwa community and visiting Akampene Island and other more of the beautiful islands and bird species on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arrive in afternoon hours and have lunch. After lunch, go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo to explore the wetlands and acacia forests and are home to an impressive variety of antelope including the giant elands and impalas. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which will be viewed clearly as you are on the boat trip. Expect to watch hippos and birds like Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, you may also see the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will bring pride to your visit.

Day 17: Safari walk and Game drive

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. In the afternoon, go for a game drive where you will spot impalas, zebras among others.

Day 18: Transfer to Kampala and City tour

In the morning drive to Kampala. You will have a stopover at the equator for some photos on the spot where the southern and northern hemisphere meets and then continue to Kampala. In the evening, you will start off with the city tour, through the city Centre, the Uganda Parliament, the National Theatre, and Namirembe Cathedral, visit the Kasubi Tombs: which represent the Buganda Culture, and Bahai Temple. We shall finish the tour with a look at the culture and history that make up this fascinating country.

 

Day 19: Visit Uganda wildlife Education Center and Transfer to Entebbe Airport 

After a breakfast, you will head to Entebbe for wildlife viewing at Uganda Wildlife Education Center like Vervet monkeys, hundreds of beautiful colored butterflies, indigenous plant species, antelope, beautiful monkeys and a visit to the botanical gardens to appreciate different plant species and if time allows botanical gardens to explore different plant species, some primates and birds. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Entebbe International Airport for departure.


   

 

 

12 DAYS – BIRDING & WILDLIFE SAFARI IN UGANDA

Day 1- Birding in Mabamba Swamp

Morning drive to Mabamba swamp for the Shoebill Stork and other water birds. Look out for many different birds on our way to the swamp, like the Papyrus Gonolek, White Winged Warbler and Weyns Weaver. This Swamp is one of the best places to spot the exceptional Shoebill Stork. But we should not under look other species found here, like the Allen’s and Purple Gallinule, Grey, Purple, Rufous Bellied and Goliath herons, African and Lesser Jacanas, Squaco Herons, the Globally threatened Pallid Harrier and Blue Swallow the migrant species, a variety of egrets, ducks etc. The best way to enjoy the rich bird life is by canoe and you might even have the luck to encounter the elusive Sitatunga Antelope, adapted to swampy habitats.

 

Day 2 – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, you will drive from Kampala towards the northwest, visit the impressive Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track rhinos and have lunch along the way. From there you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park, taking a short stop at the top of the falls, then proceed to your lodge.

Day 3 – Game Drive and boat cruise on the Nile
In the morning you will have a game drive along the Northern banks of the river and with the help of your guide you will see various animals. After you will return at the lodge, rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a boat ride to the bottom of the falls and you will see several animals such as hippos, giant crocodiles and birds, and not so far away Uganda kobs, elephants and waterbucks. 

Day 4 – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Today you will depart from Murchison Falls NP and head southwest driving through the impressive Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley; have Lunch en route. Go through Hoima to the beautiful Fort Portal town which is located in the shadow of Mountain Rwenzori.

Day 5 – Chimpanzee trekking
Early morning after a breakfast, you will set off for trekking chimpanzees in the forest. These primates are quite mobile and seeing them is not guaranteed, forest walk will be very rewarding with views of other primates and birds like the hoestes, grey cheeked mangabeys, Red-colobuses, Red-tailed monkeys and the Blue tailed monkeys plus butterflies. Your guide will detail you about the impressive flora and fauna found in this verdant forest.  After lunch, you will visit the Kasenda Crater Lake area or take the bigodi community initiative swamp walk.

Day 6 –Drive to Queen Elizabeth and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
After breakfast you will leave Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will reward you with great views of the Rwenzori Mountain Range as well as game viewing. You will have lunch at your Lodge. In the afternoon you will have a boat cruise on the famed Kazinga Channel and this will take you past very high populations of hippos, plus other several animals. This boat cruise offers you a great chance for photography, game viewing as well as bird watching.

Day 7 – Game Drive and Crater Experience
Begin the day with a game drive in the morning along the Kasenyi plus Queens Mile to see elephants, mangoose, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, lions, spotted hyenas, waterbucks and warthogs, plus various bird species. This drive will take you up to Lake George and later return for lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will go to explore the Crater Lakes region.

Day 8 – The tree climbing lions in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will set off with a packed lunch and drive to Bwindi through the Ishasha area of the Park looking for the tree climbing lions which can only be seen in this part of Uganda. Fortunately the terrain is open savannah scattered with acacia and fig trees. You will enjoy your picnic lunch and later continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 9 –Mountain gorillas Trekking
Right After breakfast in the early morning you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed before going gorilla tracking. The rainforest is thick and it’s crisscrossed by several animal trails. The joy of finally meeting the gorillas and even spending an hour with them will certainly be very memorable an experience. Generally Gorillas are huge peaceful yet shy animals however you will have a chance to take photographs and observe them play, feed and care for their young. In the afternoon, go for Birding in Mubwindi swamp

Day 10 – Explore Lake Bunyonyi
After your breakfast, drive to Kabale through the beautiful terraced verdant hills. This place is known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Bunyonyi. After lunch you will take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the numerous islands to sight see as well as view the various bird species.

Day 11 – Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning you will head to Lake Mburo National Park which is the smallest of Uganda’s national parks, and there you will have a game drive to see elands, topi, impalas, oribi, zebras and cape buffalos; plus a boat ride on the lake. This park is a very stunning birding paradise with 250 bird species such as Carruther’s cisticolas, Papyrus gonoleks and Brown-faced lapwings. After lunch you will head back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator crossing for photography.

Day 12- Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving in Kampala/Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.

 

 

 

WILDLIFE & WALK SAFARI IN UGANDA – 10 DAYS

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive from Kampala in the morning with your guide to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest park. Your eyes will be fed with lots of sightings along the way. Have a number of stops in Masindi for lunch and also at the top of the waterfalls. Due to the great power of the falls, you will realize that the ground here is actually shaking; this is very impressive as a rainbow is also found. There after continue to your lodge and check in, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and Nile Boat cruise

In the morning, you will have a breakfast and set off for a game drive. The tour guide will lead you to the finest places to easily see the animals. You will certainly enjoy Uganda’s true wilderness as you will be taking the memorable pictures that will be unforgettable on this safari. On a lucky day you may see lions, lioness plus their cubs together with other wild animals such as elephants plus giraffes moving, buffaloes and antelopes grazing in the savannah. Head back to your lodge for a delicious lunch and some rest as you prepare for the afternoon Nile boat cruise.

On the boat you will have a great time on the Victoria Nile, the boat takes you to the bottom of the falls. You will observe various animals like elephants, crocodiles, large numbers of hippos, buffaloes, water bucks and also birds such as the storks, fish eagle among others. While at the bottom of the falls you will have a great time watching the magnificent waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fortportal town and continue as you will have great vies of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to queen Elizabeth National Park
Get up so early for breakfast and head to the park, where you will be brief and later start off with Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Kibale forest is among the charming places well-known for different primates within Uganda. In the morning you will see the chimps in their natural environment. These chimps are also exciting and this very close encounter will reward you with a memorable experience on your trip. After lunch you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Game dive and Launch cruise

Enjoy your breakfast and set out for a game drive through the Kasenyi track and other tracks where you have a chance to observe different wildlife species like lions, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes and if lucky enough leopards together with amazing beautiful bird species. Queen Elizabeth has a diversity of Uganda’s ecosystems such as the Savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests and over 600 bird species which live in the park. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel; this is one of the most memorable experiences from the park. Take pleasure in observing different water birds together with their echoing sweet sounds and animals such as hippos, African crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes among others.

Day 6: Forest Walk and Crater Experience

Breakfast in the morning and head for a guided forest walk in Maramagambo forest with the hope to see diverse birds species, python and bat caves. After lunch you will go to explore the Crater Lakes region

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Climbing Lions in Ishasha

After breakfast transfer Bwindi via the Ishasha sector as you will have a chance to observe tree-climbing lions in the wild. Bwindi National Park is home to over 346 bird species, 120 mammal species, 400 plant species, 27 frog species among others. Have lunch en route and continue with your journey combined with amazing and spectacular views of banana, tea plantations and the overall green vegetation of the area. On reaching the park check in at lodge of preference.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Community walk

After a cup of tea, head to the park head offices with your guide, have a briefing about the gorilla trekking. After head for gorilla trekking through the mist rain forest, only 1 hour is permitted to trekkers while with the gorillas. Make sure you carry packed lunch, enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, walking sticks for those who are not so fit.

In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, which is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the forest for many years, enjoy traditional dances from them.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. You will go through the outstanding scenery in Kabale which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among others. Have lunch in Mbarara and continue to Lake Mburo which is home to a number of bird species, animals made it their home such as Zebras, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffaloes, and reedbucks among others. 

Day 10: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving in Kampala/Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.


   

 

8 DAYS – PRIMATE & WILDLIFE SAFARI

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

Our driver guide will meet you in Kampala and drive to Lake Mburo National Park having a stopover at the drum makers center called Mpambire and also at the Equator to take photographs. When you reach the park have lunch at the lodge and set out for a game drive through the park where you will take a glance on different animals like the Zebras that are found almost everywhere in the park. Later in the evening head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Southwestern part to Bwindi Forest, passing via Mbarara town which is endowed with beautiful landscapes, also you will see various rolling hills with terraces, it is such a great journey with all this sights. Upon reaching the park check in at the lodge and relax there the whole evening as you get ready for the next day.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Community walk

Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the professional Park rangers. You will be accompanied by the park rangers as you enter the mist forest to trek mountain gorillas. You might need a walking stick if you are not physically fit enough also considering using potters to carry your luggage just in case you have and you pay them a small amount of money for labor. After trekking, return to the lodge and later in the evening take a walk in various communities such as in Batwa community where you will interact with them and learn a lot from them before you retire at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector

Enjoy your breakfast and after transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park passing through the Ishasha sector which is home to tree climbing lions. The park has a variety of wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and many others. Check in at the lodge and have a relaxed evening.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

You will wake up very early as you will have breakfast, you will immediately start off the game drive, why you have to be early is because you will be able to see the morning risers like the lions, solitary buffaloes, kobs, elephants etc. It is such a great and exciting time as you can easily see these animals closely. Later head back to the lodge for lunch as get ready for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which is home to various species like birds such as malachite kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, and animals like crocodiles, elephants, hippos and many more. Basically cruising on the Kazinga is one of the most eye-catching activities in the park. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Crater Lake Experience

Have a morning breakfast and start your journey to Kibale forest national park which is home to Chimpanzees, you will check in at the lodge and later in the afternoon, go for crater lakes experience.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

Have breakfast early in the morning, leave the lodge for the park headquarters with enough bottled drinking water, where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, embark on trekking through the forest guided by an armed park ranger. Nothing is as amazing as having time with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also see other primates like golden monkeys, grey checked Mangabeys, LHoests monkeys, bush babies, among others; you will also spot a number of birds.

After lunch at the lodge, go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland in the afternoon. You will meet different people that stay there also will see different birds like the Great Blue Turaco and more primates like the bush pigs, otters, baboons among others.

Day 8: Return to Kampala

After your breakfast, leave the park and drive to Kampala, where you will be in line to see beautiful scenic views found in this area. You will enjoy lunch on the way. Your driver guide will take to Kampala or to the Airport in Entebbe for your flight back home.

 
   

11 DAYS – ADVENTURE UGANDA SAFARI

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Have an early breakfast and transfer to Murchison Falls, along the way pass visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is home to rhinos. Have lunch in Masindi and embark on your journey to the park which is home to over 451 bird species and 76 mammal species via top of the falls. Relax at the lodge in the evening.

 

Day 2: Game drives and Launch cruise along the Nile

After a breakfast, set off for a game drive through the park where a lot of early risers will be seen such as Giraffes, leopards, lions, Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, bushbucks, among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and a rest as you get ready for the afternoon boat cruise along the Nile, the Victoria Nile divides the park into the northern and southern banks. On the boat you will spot other animals like Hippos, Crocodiles and different bird like the Pelican, Goliath Heroin, Kingfishers, and the rare shoebill.

The boat will leave you at the bottom of the magnificent falls a few meters from the Devils Cauldron here you will take enough photographs as continue with a hike to the top of these falls, enjoy the thunderous roars of the magnificent falls as they make their way through an 8m gorge and falling at 43m to meet again the Victoria Nile. Its a great time spent there watching the formed rainbows in the clouds of falling waters. Later meet your guide who will transfer you again to the lodge.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fortportal town and continue as you will have great vies of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge.

 

Day 4: Chimps Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Get up so early for breakfast and head to the park, where you will be brief and later start off with Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Kibale forest is among the charming places well-known for different primates within Uganda. In the morning you will see the chimps in their natural environment. These chimps are also exciting and this very close encounter will reward you with a memorable experience on your trip. After lunch you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park has over 600 species of birds and amazing for game viewing since a number of wild animals made it their home like elephants, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes among others.

 

Day 5: Game drive and Launch cruise

Have an early breakfast and set off for a game drive to look for wild animals such as lions, waterbucks, cape buffaloes, leopards, forest hogs, topis, warthogs, antelopes and others. Head back to the lodge and have lunch after in the afternoon, you will embark on the 2 hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel which joins lakes Edward and George. On the boat enjoy watching large schools of hippos and crocodiles among other animals and birds.

 

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

Drive to Bwindi through scenic region also referred to as The Switzerland of Africa via Ishasha. While in Ishasha it will be an added experience as you will see tree-climbing lions. Then proceed to the home of mountain Gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking day

Today be up early enough and take breakfast, have a short drive to the headquarters of the park where you will meet experienced park guides/rangers who will take you through a briefing about gorilla trekking. After start the hike in the mist forest to look for the gentle giants, the trackers to be physically fit since over 7,500 ft in altitude can be climbed. You are advised to carry enough water, packed lunch, sun glasses, hats, rain coats, water proof cameras without flashes. You will have a great time watching the mountain gorillas in this thick forest with only 1 hour is permitted to be with them. After the gorilla experience, your guide will drive you to stunning Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africas deepest lakes and famous for its beautiful scenery such as the terraced hills and 29 islands in water, it is also safe for swimming since it is Bilharzia free. 

Day 8: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. 

 

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

Early morning after breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo, a small but rich National park seated on an area of 371 sq km. Lake Mburo National Park is home to a big number of Zebras, antelopes, warthogs, reed bucks, oribis and a number of bird species. On your way, you will go through the rolling terraced hills of Kabale, having a stop in Mbarara for lunch -The land of milk and honey. After, continue reaching the park in the late afternoon. Have a 2 hour boat cruise on the lake and later have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day10: Safari walk and Transfer to Kampala

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving Kampala in the late afternoon.

Day 11: Kampala City tour and transfer to Entebbe

In the morning after breakfast, go for a city tour, visit the amazing Kabaka’s Palace and Lake and also some craft shops to buy some crafts and souvenirs to take back home with you. After your driver will take you to Entebbe have lunch and proceed to the Airport for your flight back home.

GORILLA & SAVANNA SAFARI – 9 DAYS

 

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

After breakfast you will drive to Murchison falls national park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Trekking and then proceed to the top of the falls, thereafter continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. You will have lunch en-route while on the way, you be enjoying the homesteads of Ugandans by passing the vehicle windows.

Day 4: Chimp Trekking

After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee trekking. The most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. After trekking you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland, after transfer to Queen Elizabeth.

Day 5: Game drive and launch cruise

An early morning go for a game drive in the Kasenyi sector, you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

 After your breakfast, Transfer to take a drive in Ishasha plains for your final visit with the lions and other wildlife continue to Bwindi.  The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Gorilla trekking

Prepare for early morning breakfast and report to the gorilla park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides and later head into the forest for Gorilla trekking. After the great experience of Mountain Gorillas, you will drive to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

You will enjoy breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route in Mbarara town and proceed to Lake Mburo where on arrival, you will have a game drive where you will see Impalas, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, Zebra, buffalo and many more

Day 9: safari walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

Enjoy an early safari walk, during the walk you will explore the herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer, Zebra and buffalo also graze the area. Return to the lodge for the breakfast, then drive back to Kampala with a stopover at Equator for lunch and proceed to Entebbe airport for your flight.

 
   

 

14 DAY EXPLORE UGANDA SAFARI

 

Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.

Meet your safari guide and leave Entebbe/Kampala in the morning for you Explore Uganda safari. The target for the day is Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. We arrive for lunch in the sanctuary before having a walk to see the rhinos up-close. After Rhino trekking evening at the lodge.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After breakfast you set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Be there around lunch time. When you have finished your lunch it is time to experience the top of the falls. It is an amazing feeling to stand their enjoying the view and hearing the water roar. Have a relaxed evening at the lodge.

 

Day 3: Game-drive and boat-cruise in Murchison Falls National Park.

Get up early in the morning to meet the animals of the savanna. During this morning game-drive you will see giraffes, elephants, lions and more. In the afternoon it is time for a boat-cruise on the mighty Nile spotting for example hippos, crocodiles and birds on the shores. Spend the night in Budongo forest (part of Murchison Falls) to get close to the jungle.

Day 4: Transfer to Hoima

Have a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. After breakfast your guides take you to the town of Hoima. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel. Hoima town it’s one of the big towns in the western Uganda and you can spend your evening around town.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Be prepared for a long day in the car made easier by making a stop in a village to stretch your legs, taking a look at a tea plantation and studying the Ugandan countryside passing by the window. Here you can have a stopover at Fort portal town the first cleanest town in Uganda.

Day 6: Chimps trekking in Kibale Forest National Park.

Be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and get ready for your chimps trekking experience. Your guide takes you to the starting point and you set off in to the beautiful jungle to see the chimpanzees. After the chimps trekking your guide meets you and takes you to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 7: Game-drive and boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up early in the morning for a game-drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth national park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds and more. After lunch your guide takes you to the afternoon boat-cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is a great highlight were you for example can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 8: Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth national park in the morning. The drive there goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you find topis, buffaloes and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game-drive the journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

In the morning, you will set off for the highlight of this Explore Uganda safari; the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set of for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are and you get to spent one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 10: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. Here you can have a walk and visit locals for local entertainment.

 

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo National Park where you will take a relaxed evening.

Day 12: Safari-walk and game-drive in Lake Mburo National Park

Start the day early with a safari-walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Get the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game-drive in the park, here you can see impalas and zebras. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks on this Explore Uganda safari.

Day 13: Transfer to Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side on the southern and northern hemisphere. After the last part of the drive to Kampala your guide takes you to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon/evening.

 

Day 14: Kampala City tour and flight

Go for a city tour of Kampala before heading to Entebbe for your flight. The city tour can be adapted to your interests of crafts shopping, cultural sights or community tourism. The length of the city tour depends on your flight time and your guide will transfer you to Entebbe in time for check-in.

 
   

 

 

19 DAYS – TOUR UGANDA SAFARI

 

Day 1: Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast transfer to Jinja. Visit the virgin and dramatic Itanda falls where you are entertained by the kayaking boys as they tussle the big rapids, enjoy Half day rafting as you watch the birds among others. Drive to the source of the Nile where you will take a boat ride around source of the River Nile where it dramatically separates from lake Victoria, the stream of water will start running towards the North forming the Victoria Nile co-joining with the Albert Nile in the Murchison falls National Park to Sudan to meet the Blue and White Nile and continue through Egypt to the Mediterranean sea.

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls

Transfer to Mbale town where we shall stop briefly for lunch. From Mbale we shall drive straight to Sipi. We shall have an evening nature walk and Hike where we shall visit the three falls that make up Sipi. The visit of the three falls involves hiking a trail network that is characterized by a steep and slippery path, mud on rainy days, climbing ladders and going through farms.

Day 3:– Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via the Luwero triangle and Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of trekking the endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Have an Early Morning breakfast and Transfer to Kidepo valley National Park reaching late afternoon to check in for dinner at the Lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and community walk

Take an early morning game drive in the morning to see the lions, cheetah, always surrounded by Zebra, Waterbuck, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Warthogs, Patas monkeys and big herds of Buffalo.

Have Early Lunch prepared at The Bandas and Proceed for an afternoon Half day to the communities, Visit the Karamojong manyatta. Get an insight of their daily lives, the way their homes are constructed and much more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After your early morning breakfast drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park driving via Gulu. Later continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving at your lodge late afternoon.

Day 7: Games Drives and Boat cruise

early in the morning after breakfast, go for your game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile in your open-roof vehicle which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the schools of hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.  After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may choose to continue to the top of the falls, where you will have the amazing view of the falls! See where the Nile -world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft  in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

Day 8: Transfer to Hoima

After a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. Thereafter, your guide will take you to the Hoima town. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your morning breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park through verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads, farms and Tea Estates. You will have a stopover for lunch en-route. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Trekking day

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale is also a home to the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.  

After lunch, go for Bigodi swamp walk, it protects around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus Gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked mangabey. The guided walk is led by experienced local guides who interact with the guests and make the trip both enjoyable and exciting.

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast at your lodge before you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. Your expert driver guide will take you through the game park where you might spot some animals. Upon arriving at your lodge.

You will enjoy a hot lunch and later in the afternoon take a unique boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species. 

Day 12: Game Drive and bat Cave Exploration

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent opportunities to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, Defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck. The game drives is memorable methods of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife. 

Afternoon Nature walk to the bat and hunters cave at where we take a close look at the bats, rock python and forest cobras. The same walk will provide a chance of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and your last overnight stay.

Day 13: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park via Ishasha

 After your breakfast, Transfer to take a drive in Ishasha plains for your final visit with the lions and other wildlife continue to Bwindi.  The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Day 14: Gorilla Trekking day and Community Walk

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a community walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast drive to Lake Bunyonyi which has breathtaking scenery. Spend the night overlooking Uganda deepest lake, where you may try your hand at paddling at dugout canoe, or eating fresh water crayfish. 

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest National Park of Uganda. Though being small, it has a lot offer!!  Centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes its birdlife is very rich.  The green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like Zebra, warthog, Eland, Impala, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles!

You will arrive at the Hotel/lodge in the time for lunch.  Later in the afternoon enjoy the boat ride on Lake Mburo and get quite close to the crocodiles and hippos. As you return to your Hotel.

Day 17: Farm Tour and Safari Walk in the Park

 After breakfast transfer to the Farm and watch or participate in the Milking of the Ankole long horned Cattle, return for full breakfast at the Hotel and later enjoy your lunch and afternoon transfer to the Park for a safari walk under the escort of an armed ranger. The Kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflage klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably.  It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.

Day 18: Game drive and Transfer to Kampala

After a morning breakfast, you will go for a game drive where you will spot impalas, zebras among others and then transfer to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time.  Take some photos, then another stop over at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations arriving in the afternoon.

Day 19: Brief City Tour and Departure

After a breakfast, go for a city tour to Hike the Famous Gadhafi Mosque Tower. The Kampala’s Tallest Tower and view the original Rolling hills enveloped on with great Villas and numerous slums, return to have an Owino Market walk and mix with the Drama of Marketing with the Locals. Then transfer to the airport for the flight back

 
   

 

 

13 DAYS EXPLORE UGANDA SAFARI

Day 1:  Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

 After an early breakfast, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via the Luwero triangle and Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of trekking the endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison falls National Park.

Have your early morning breakfast. Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. After lunch, drive to the   top of the Murchison falls – a beautiful view for those who love taking pictures! View how the longest river Nile explodes through a narrow ravine from a 100 meter gorge to a 35 meters wide gorge. 

Day 3: Game drive and Boat ride

Early in the morning, prepare your selves for a game drive.  You will search for buffaloes, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Kobs, water-bucks, oribi, lions, hyena, a leopard if lucky and the birds. Returns to the lodge relax until lunch time. After lunch, head for a Boat ride along Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls.  The Murchison Falls are an astounding flaunt of the supremacy of scenery.  Expect to see the Nile crocodiles, hippos, bird species and buffaloes, elephants drinking along the Nile. Return to the lodge of dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Hoima

After a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. Thereafter, your guide will take you to the Hoima town. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel.

Day 5: Transfer Kibale forest national park via Fort Portal 

Have breakfast and head to Fort Portal. Go for a city tour and visit the Amabeere Ganyinamwiru which is a limestone place full of stalagmites and stalactites. These are traditionally known as the breasts of Nyinamwiru the mother of the first king of Bachwezi. Visit also the crater lakes in the area.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk in Bigodi

After breakfast, head to Kibale National park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee tracking and then slope into the forest and start looking for the chimpanzees. While looking for the chimpanzees, you will be able to view other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest. View how the chimpanzees jump from one tree to another and how they pick fruits from trees. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a swamp walk and view the different primates and bird species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for a number of wildlife like the hippos, buffaloes, elephants, Kobs and a number of bird species. Visit the crater lakes like Lake Katwe famous for salt and continue for lunch. Have lunch at the lodge then head to the Kazinga channel for the boat cruise that may give you the opportunity to see Crocodiles, Hippos, water birds and land mammal at the water’s edge.

Day 8:  Game drive and launch cruise

After Early morning breakfast, go for a game drive and view the early raisers like the lions, water bucks, warthogs, buffaloes, Hippos  and birds  mostly those that are found mainly in the Albertine  rift valley. The park boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps. Return to the lodge and have breakfast. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel and view a number of water birds, elephants, buffaloes drinking from the shores of the lake.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park famous for the rare mountain gorillas. The park has 8 habituated groups which visitors are allowed to visit and one for scientists and researchers. Pass through the Ishasha sector which is found in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge depending on the gorilla group to be tracked.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking  and Village walk to the Batwa area.

After breakfast and with packed lunch, go for briefing by park ranger guides about gorilla tracking at the park headquarters. Hike into the forest and start looking for the gorillas starting from where they were last seen the previous day. When you come across them, spend one hour with the gorillas and see how they feed, play with each other. Gorilla trekking can take 8 hours depending on the kind of weather and where the gorillas are. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi  

Lake Bunyonyi is not only the deepest Lake in Uganda but the most beautiful I should admit. One is simply mesmerized by its striking supernatural beauty as it snakes along Uganda’s scenery by rings of terraced farms only to realize foliage enunciating, this awesome lake as a gorgeous outskirt.  Lake Bunyonyi which gets its name Bunyonyi from  a local word which means “place of bird” is a bracing place  of solace , comfort, reflection name it. It was named Bunyonyi because it is a home to so many bird species. 

 

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Take your breakfast and head off to Lake Mburo National Park.  This park is a famous home to a large population of Zebras and impalas. The park also has a number of Uganda Kobs, impalas, bush-bucks, dickers and antelopes.  Have lunch and then in the afternoon, go for a game drive game in Lake Mburo National park. Its landscape is beautiful and it includes; lakes, Savanna, wetlands, Acacia tree all   favoring the perfect home for bird species.  Lake Mburo Np is a home to over 313 different types of birds which include; see the White -Winged Warbler, the Nubian Woodpecker, spot the Brown parrot, search for the crested Francolin, the Barefaced Go-away bird, the Greenwood Hoopoe, the Nubian Woodpecker, the African-grey Horn-bill, Trilling Cisticolas, the Red necked spur fowl, African-Wattled Plover Rufous napped and Yellow-throat Long claw among others.

Day 13: Safari Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.

Having an early morning go for a safari/nature walk in Lake Mburo National park. Lake Mburo Np is a home to over 313 different types of birds which include; see the White -Winged Warbler, spot the Brown parrot, search for the crested Francolin,  common Quails, the Barefaced Go-away bird, the Greenwood Hoopoe,  the Barefaced Go-away bird,  the Nubian Woodpecker, the African-grey Horn-bill, Trilling Cisticolas, the Lilac-breasted Roller, Black Bellied Bustard, the Red necked spur fowl, African-Wattled Plover Rufous napped,  Southern Red Bishop,  Rufous chested Swallow and Yellow-throat Long claw and beautiful animal species. You will have a stopover at the equator for memorable photographs and then proceed to the airport for the flight back.

 
   

16 DAY GRAND SAFARI TO UGANDA

 

Day 1: Transfer to Jinja Source of the Nile

Early in the morning, set off to the source of the longest river on planet earth. You will drive to Jinja via Kampala. The journey will take you through small towns, tropical rain forest, road side markets, and tea and sugar plantations arriving in time for a lunch break and a boat ride to the source of the Nile.

Day 2: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary via Nakasongola for Rhino trekking. Have an opportunity of tracking these endangered species and learn more about them.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Budongo Forest which is part of the larger Murchison Falls National Park, you will then drive to Murchison Falls via the top of the falls to see how Nile waters squeeze themselves into a narrow gorge to explode into what has been called the strongest and powerful waterfalls on planet Earth.

Day 4: game drives and Boat Cruise on the Nile

You will wake up early for a morning game drive to the northern banks of River Nile. This side of the park provides an opportunity to spot several antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, buffaloes, and if luck, big cats such as leopards and lions. Return to the lodge for lunch and then a boat cruise to the base of the falls. On your way from the jetty point to the bottom of the falls, you will spot several herds of buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, water bird species and other wild animals as they flock River Nile to drink water. Continue upstream to the base of the falls to observe how water squeezes in a narrow gorge to later explode in what has been referred to the strongest and powerful falls on planet earth. Return to the Lodge for overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

You will drive to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal town for Lunch before checking in at Rwenzori View Guest House. No major activity these day but if time allows, you may drive around Fort Portal town.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters at Kanyakyu to join other trekkers for briefing and eventual chimpanzee trekking. You will be led by a well-trained ranger/guide who will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. This forest provides an opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities/part of chimpanzees and spend an hour with them observing and taking photographs. Kibale National Park is home to other 11 primate species coupled with forest birds. After your chimpanzee trek, you will drive to Bigodi Village for a wetland walk that was designed to benefit the local community living around Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, your will drive from Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have an opportunity of passing through small towns, seeing several foothills of Mountain Rwenzori, small rivers that originate from Rwenzori mountain ranges as well as crossing the equator at Kikorongo. Check in at Lodge, relax as you prepare for afternoon game drive in Mweya. This section of Queen Elizabeth National Park is endowed with Antelopes, Buffaloes, Warthogs, elephants and many other wild animals including lions and leopards whose sight depends on your luck since this is nature.

Day 8: Game drive and Boat Cruise

After an early morning cup of tea, you will drive back to Kasenyi plains for a game drive to catch up with what you could have missed out on your earlier game drive. It’s this time of the morning that big cats are out hunting for their prey and as such chances of spotting lions and or leopards are slightly high. Never the less, you will be guaranteed to see buffaloes, hippos, several species of antelopes, and many others. You may return to the lodge for lunch or drive directly to Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This two hour boat cruise is one of the highlights in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It provides you an opportunity to view over 300 out of the 600 water bird species recorded here, antelopes, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and hippos

Day 9: Kyambura Chimp trekking and Katwe salt mines

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kyambura to join other trekkers for briefing and their after start you chimpanzee walk in the gorge. Your experienced ranger guide will help you identify several flora and fauna resident in this gorge and once you find a community of chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them for photography. Return back from the trek for lunch and short relaxation at the lodge before moving out again to visit Lake Katwe salt mines. Lake Katwe is an explosive crate which is gifted with salt and it’s the local community that mines/extracts salt from this lake. The local community guide will take you for a tour around salt mines explaining how salt extraction is done, challenges faced and opportunities available. Lake Katwe salt extraction project is one of the live examples supporting Queen Elizabeth as one of the conservation areas in the whole world where man is sustainably co-existing harmoniously with wildlife.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector.

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park famous for the rare mountain gorillas. The park has 8 habituated groups which visitors are allowed to visit and one for scientists and researchers. Pass through the Ishasha sector which is found in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking and community walk.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters to join others for gorilla family allocation and full briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. After that, you will be driven to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the impenetrable Bwindi Forest. This trek may take from 30 minutes to three quarters of the day depending on where mountain gorillas will be. Thus gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, the experience will be worth it and you will be allowed one hour of observation and photography.  You will then return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort of helping to conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation followed by a village walk to learn more about the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District. Bunyonyi locally means small birds due to the abundance of small birds in this area. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in East Africa. A person visit Lake Bunyonyi for its beauty and is one of the best place to relax after your gorilla trek.

Day 13: Canoeing or Hiking.

After breakfast, you are free to admire the beauty of the lake and its surrounding hills. You will have a choice of either taking a canoe ride on the lake to explore different island with exciting history. You will for example visit the Punishment Island where girls who would produce babies out of legitimate tradition marriage would be dumped and left to die. This is a whole day activity and you will surely enjoy it. Alternatively, you can hike one of the hills around Lake Bunyonyi. Encounter Africa Safaris supports some projects so those who want to do something on their tour can go for volunteer work.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo Cultural center to learn more about the cultures of ethnic groups in western Uganda. Lunch will be served en route arrive at Lake Mburo National Park for a boat cruise on the Lake followed by an evening game drive. Lake Mburo National Park is popular for animals such as impalas, Giraffes, Zebras and so much more. Return to the Lodge for overnight.

Day 15: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala.

After breakfast, you will go for a guided nature walk with an armed ranger where you will see animals like as impalas, Giraffes, Zebras and so much more. Afternoon, proceed the journey to Kampala with a stop at the Equator crossing for photography and stretching.

Day 16: City Tour and Transfer to the Airport.

You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, have a brief city tour of Kampala, enjoy lunch and later transfer to the Airport.

 
   

 

 

 

 

19 DAYS – UGANDA’S WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

Day 1: Visit Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary.

 After you breakfast at the hotel/lodge, you will be transferred to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. You will leave the mainland, cross by the ferry and do the afternoon chimpanzee feeding after cross back to the mainland.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja.

 After breakfast in the morning, Morning chimpanzee feeding will be carried out and later return to the mainland. You will have lunch enroute while being transferred to the Jinja highway toward Jinja.  When you arrive at arrive at Mabira Forest, you will like this magnificent forest with its trees, small mammals, birds, butterflies fauna and flora. You will be led along by a ranger who is well versed in Mabira, birds, butterflies, plants and wildlife.

Day 3: White water rafting.

 After morning breakfast, you will go to the Bujagali Falls for white water rafting. You will spend the morning bouncing over, through and under the water during this activity. You will stop to have lunch at the Hotel and then visit the Source of the Nile and see where John Speke discovered what is known today as the Source of the Nile. You can take a boat ride on the Nile and go right to where Lake Victoria and the Nile meet. You will have and lots of opportunities to take pictures from flowers to the Nile and its fishermen.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Leaving for Murchison Falls National Park will be in the morning. When driving, the Panorama is interesting. You will have lunch at the Lodge. You will take a late afternoon game drive and most likely be astonished by the variety of wildlife that you will encounter along drive. 

Day 5: Game drives and Boat ride

You will have an early breakfast and take off for a morning game drive.  You will be able to see the sun rise over the savanna and enjoy, giraffes, buffalos, birds the lions, antelopes, elephants and more along the way. After a packed lunch, you will enjoy afternoon boat ride on the Nile and often the highlight of the trip to Murchison Falls National Park.  Feel free to take pictures of crocodiles, birds, monkeys, elephants hippos, buffalos and of course the fabulous falls themselves.

Day 6: Transfer to Semliki National Park 

You will be driven early in the morning to Semuliki National Park. This is the only national park in Uganda where you can go for a night drive to view many cats, white tailed mongoose, slim mongoose and minuscule genet, after having dinner, you will go on a night drive. This game drive will yield the nightjars which are very uncommon to see during the day and much nocturnal wildlife

Day 7: Birding and Lake Albert boat ride 

You will have a boat trip on Lake Albert with your packed lunch. You will observe the colonies of Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin, Nkulengu Rail, Western Bronze-napped Pigeon, Black-collared Lovebird, Red-throated bee-eaters dart, Spot-breasted Ibis, Hartlaubs’s Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshawk, Red-thighed Sparrow hawk and many others. Then have lunch at the waterfalls which provide a great picnic spot. Have views of several fishing villages along the way, and a visit at the tribal community at the foothills of the Rwenzori’s, where the locals look forward to welcoming and entertaining visitors. Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale forest national park 

After early breakfast, drive to Fort portal with lunch enroute. You will drive through traditional homesteads and farms and this will enable you enjoy the beautiful scenery across that part of the country. You will have a leisurely late afternoon hike around the town and return in time

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking day AND Bigodi swamp visit

With your packed lunch, find your way to the forest after being briefed by the experienced guide who will lead you while trekking. In the park, you may have a view of all the primates like  Blue, Black faced Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons and an incredible array of bird life, including the Great Blue Turaco, Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys. In the afternoon, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that live in the swamp.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and boat cruise

After breakfast, enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is situated at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountain, interspersed with patches of forest and crater lakes thus a thought for a safari. At your arrival, carry out a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. You will scrutinize the concentration of water birds, hippos and crocodiles which is amazing. The bird species includes the black bee- eater, various types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more.

Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and Game drive

Have an early morning breakfast and set off to Kyambura gorge for another experience of the chimpanzees. During the drive, you will also have a great opportunity to spot black-and-white colobus monkeys and a few more of those 600 bird species that have been registered in the park. In the afternoon, go for game drive in the Park, to see wildlife like elephants, lions, Uganda Kobs, spotted hyenas and the leopard plus many others

Day 12: game drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

In the morning you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Queen Elizabeth’s southern Ishasha sector. Have hope of watching the tree climbing lions and the elusive leopards.  This is a dry and wild savannah region, much less developed than the Mweya peninsula. The game viewing is very good due to the fact that the region is well known for the tree climbing lions.

Day 13: Gorilla trekking day and Pygmy visit

We shall enter the sanctuary at dawn and enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas. After a crumb briefing by the experienced guides, we shall then proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals called the great Apes (Gorillas). Other primates also inhabit in the forest including the red tail monkey, chimpanzee and black-and-white colobus monkey. This can be very tiring because the ground is steep and densely forested. In the evening, you will have community walk to experience the living standards of pygmies.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, drive to the beautiful and deepest lake in Uganda with scenic view islands for leisure visit various islands of Lake Bunyonyi for bird watching and communities living on amazing islands.

Day 15: Relaxation day at Lake Bunyonyi

After a relaxed breakfast, go for Boat ride heading to Batwa community and visiting Akampene Island and other more of the beautiful islands and bird species on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arrive in afternoon hours and have lunch. After lunch, go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo to explore the wetlands and acacia forests and are home to an impressive variety of antelope including the giant elands and impalas. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which will be viewed clearly as you are on the boat trip. Expect to watch hippos and birds like Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, you may also see the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will bring pride to your visit.

Day 17: Safari walk and Game drive

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. In the afternoon, go for a game drive where you will spot impalas, zebras among others.

Day 18: Transfer to Kampala and City tour

In the morning drive to Kampala. You will have a stopover at the equator for some photos on the spot where the southern and northern hemisphere meets and then continue to Kampala. In the evening, you will start off with the city tour, through the city Centre, the Uganda Parliament, the National Theatre, and Namirembe Cathedral, visit the Kasubi Tombs: which represent the Buganda Culture, and Bahai Temple. We shall finish the tour with a look at the culture and history that make up this fascinating country.

 

Day 19: Visit Uganda wildlife Education Center and Transfer to Entebbe Airport 

After a breakfast, you will head to Entebbe for wildlife viewing at Uganda Wildlife Education Center like Vervet monkeys, hundreds of beautiful colored butterflies, indigenous plant species, antelope, beautiful monkeys and a visit to the botanical gardens to appreciate different plant species and if time allows botanical gardens to explore different plant species, some primates and birds. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Entebbe International Airport for departure.

 
   

 

 

12 DAYS – BIRDING & WILDLIFE SAFARI IN UGANDA

Day 1- Birding in Mabamba Swamp

Morning drive to Mabamba swamp for the Shoebill Stork and other water birds. Look out for many different birds on our way to the swamp, like the Papyrus Gonolek, White Winged Warbler and Weyns Weaver. This Swamp is one of the best places to spot the exceptional Shoebill Stork. But we should not under look other species found here, like the Allen’s and Purple Gallinule, Grey, Purple, Rufous Bellied and Goliath herons, African and Lesser Jacanas, Squaco Herons, the Globally threatened Pallid Harrier and Blue Swallow the migrant species, a variety of egrets, ducks etc. The best way to enjoy the rich bird life is by canoe and you might even have the luck to encounter the elusive Sitatunga Antelope, adapted to swampy habitats.

 

Day 2 – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, you will drive from Kampala towards the northwest, visit the impressive Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track rhinos and have lunch along the way. From there you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park, taking a short stop at the top of the falls, then proceed to your lodge.

Day 3 – Game Drive and boat cruise on the Nile
In the morning you will have a game drive along the Northern banks of the river and with the help of your guide you will see various animals. After you will return at the lodge, rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a boat ride to the bottom of the falls and you will see several animals such as hippos, giant crocodiles and birds, and not so far away Uganda kobs, elephants and waterbucks. 

Day 4 – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Today you will depart from Murchison Falls NP and head southwest driving through the impressive Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley; have Lunch en route. Go through Hoima to the beautiful Fort Portal town which is located in the shadow of Mountain Rwenzori.

Day 5 – Chimpanzee trekking
Early morning after a breakfast, you will set off for trekking chimpanzees in the forest. These primates are quite mobile and seeing them is not guaranteed, forest walk will be very rewarding with views of other primates and birds like the hoestes, grey cheeked mangabeys, Red-colobuses, Red-tailed monkeys and the Blue tailed monkeys plus butterflies. Your guide will detail you about the impressive flora and fauna found in this verdant forest.  After lunch, you will visit the Kasenda Crater Lake area or take the bigodi community initiative swamp walk.

Day 6 –Drive to Queen Elizabeth and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
After breakfast you will leave Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will reward you with great views of the Rwenzori Mountain Range as well as game viewing. You will have lunch at your Lodge. In the afternoon you will have a boat cruise on the famed Kazinga Channel and this will take you past very high populations of hippos, plus other several animals. This boat cruise offers you a great chance for photography, game viewing as well as bird watching.

Day 7 – Game Drive and Crater Experience
Begin the day with a game drive in the morning along the Kasenyi plus Queens Mile to see elephants, mangoose, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, lions, spotted hyenas, waterbucks and warthogs, plus various bird species. This drive will take you up to Lake George and later return for lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will go to explore the Crater Lakes region.

Day 8 – The tree climbing lions in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will set off with a packed lunch and drive to Bwindi through the Ishasha area of the Park looking for the tree climbing lions which can only be seen in this part of Uganda. Fortunately the terrain is open savannah scattered with acacia and fig trees. You will enjoy your picnic lunch and later continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 9 –Mountain gorillas Trekking
Right After breakfast in the early morning you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed before going gorilla tracking. The rainforest is thick and it’s crisscrossed by several animal trails. The joy of finally meeting the gorillas and even spending an hour with them will certainly be very memorable an experience. Generally Gorillas are huge peaceful yet shy animals however you will have a chance to take photographs and observe them play, feed and care for their young. In the afternoon, go for Birding in Mubwindi swamp

Day 10 – Explore Lake Bunyonyi
After your breakfast, drive to Kabale through the beautiful terraced verdant hills. This place is known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Bunyonyi. After lunch you will take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the numerous islands to sight see as well as view the various bird species.

Day 11 – Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning you will head to Lake Mburo National Park which is the smallest of Uganda’s national parks, and there you will have a game drive to see elands, topi, impalas, oribi, zebras and cape buffalos; plus a boat ride on the lake. This park is a very stunning birding paradise with 250 bird species such as Carruther’s cisticolas, Papyrus gonoleks and Brown-faced lapwings. After lunch you will head back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator crossing for photography.

Day 12- Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving in Kampala/Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.

 

 

 

 

WILDLIFE & WALK SAFARI IN UGANDA – 10 DAYS

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive from Kampala in the morning with your guide to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest park. Your eyes will be fed with lots of sightings along the way. Have a number of stops in Masindi for lunch and also at the top of the waterfalls. Due to the great power of the falls, you will realize that the ground here is actually shaking; this is very impressive as a rainbow is also found. There after continue to your lodge and check in, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and Nile Boat cruise

In the morning, you will have a breakfast and set off for a game drive. The tour guide will lead you to the finest places to easily see the animals. You will certainly enjoy Uganda’s true wilderness as you will be taking the memorable pictures that will be unforgettable on this safari. On a lucky day you may see lions, lioness plus their cubs together with other wild animals such as elephants plus giraffes moving, buffaloes and antelopes grazing in the savannah. Head back to your lodge for a delicious lunch and some rest as you prepare for the afternoon Nile boat cruise.

On the boat you will have a great time on the Victoria Nile, the boat takes you to the bottom of the falls. You will observe various animals like elephants, crocodiles, large numbers of hippos, buffaloes, water bucks and also birds such as the storks, fish eagle among others. While at the bottom of the falls you will have a great time watching the magnificent waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fortportal town and continue as you will have great vies of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to queen Elizabeth National Park
Get up so early for breakfast and head to the park, where you will be brief and later start off with Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. Kibale forest is among the charming places well-known for different primates within Uganda. In the morning you will see the chimps in their natural environment. These chimps are also exciting and this very close encounter will reward you with a memorable experience on your trip. After lunch you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Game dive and Launch cruise

Enjoy your breakfast and set out for a game drive through the Kasenyi track and other tracks where you have a chance to observe different wildlife species like lions, elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes and if lucky enough leopards together with amazing beautiful bird species. Queen Elizabeth has a diversity of Uganda’s ecosystems such as the Savannah, wetlands, lakes, forests and over 600 bird species which live in the park. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel; this is one of the most memorable experiences from the park. Take pleasure in observing different water birds together with their echoing sweet sounds and animals such as hippos, African crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes among others.

Day 6: Forest Walk and Crater Experience

Breakfast in the morning and head for a guided forest walk in Maramagambo forest with the hope to see diverse birds species, python and bat caves. After lunch you will go to explore the Crater Lakes region

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Climbing Lions in Ishasha

After breakfast transfer Bwindi via the Ishasha sector as you will have a chance to observe tree-climbing lions in the wild. Bwindi National Park is home to over 346 bird species, 120 mammal species, 400 plant species, 27 frog species among others. Have lunch en route and continue with your journey combined with amazing and spectacular views of banana, tea plantations and the overall green vegetation of the area. On reaching the park check in at lodge of preference.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Community walk

After a cup of tea, head to the park head offices with your guide, have a briefing about the gorilla trekking. After head for gorilla trekking through the mist rain forest, only 1 hour is permitted to trekkers while with the gorillas. Make sure you carry packed lunch, enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, rain jackets, walking sticks for those who are not so fit.

In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, which is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the forest for many years, enjoy traditional dances from them.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. You will go through the outstanding scenery in Kabale which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among others. Have lunch in Mbarara and continue to Lake Mburo which is home to a number of bird species, animals made it their home such as Zebras, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffaloes, and reedbucks among others. 

Day 10: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving in Kampala/Entebbe Airport for your flight back home.

 
   

 

8 DAYS – PRIMATE & WILDLIFE SAFARI

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

Our driver guide will meet you in Kampala and drive to Lake Mburo National Park having a stopover at the drum makers center called Mpambire and also at the Equator to take photographs. When you reach the park have lunch at the lodge and set out for a game drive through the park where you will take a glance on different animals like the Zebras that are found almost everywhere in the park. Later in the evening head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. A good camera is a must have which in this instance offers you better pictures of Uganda’s true wilderness. Proceed with your journey to Southwestern part to Bwindi Forest, passing via Mbarara town which is endowed with beautiful landscapes, also you will see various rolling hills with terraces, it is such a great journey with all this sights. Upon reaching the park check in at the lodge and relax there the whole evening as you get ready for the next day.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Community walk

Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the professional Park rangers. You will be accompanied by the park rangers as you enter the mist forest to trek mountain gorillas. You might need a walking stick if you are not physically fit enough also considering using potters to carry your luggage just in case you have and you pay them a small amount of money for labor. After trekking, return to the lodge and later in the evening take a walk in various communities such as in Batwa community where you will interact with them and learn a lot from them before you retire at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector

Enjoy your breakfast and after transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park passing through the Ishasha sector which is home to tree climbing lions. The park has a variety of wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and many others. Check in at the lodge and have a relaxed evening.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

You will wake up very early as you will have breakfast, you will immediately start off the game drive, why you have to be early is because you will be able to see the morning risers like the lions, solitary buffaloes, kobs, elephants etc. It is such a great and exciting time as you can easily see these animals closely. Later head back to the lodge for lunch as get ready for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which is home to various species like birds such as malachite kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, and animals like crocodiles, elephants, hippos and many more. Basically cruising on the Kazinga is one of the most eye-catching activities in the park. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Crater Lake Experience

Have a morning breakfast and start your journey to Kibale forest national park which is home to Chimpanzees, you will check in at the lodge and later in the afternoon, go for crater lakes experience.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

Have breakfast early in the morning, leave the lodge for the park headquarters with enough bottled drinking water, where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, embark on trekking through the forest guided by an armed park ranger. Nothing is as amazing as having time with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also see other primates like golden monkeys, grey checked Mangabeys, LHoests monkeys, bush babies, among others; you will also spot a number of birds.

After lunch at the lodge, go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland in the afternoon. You will meet different people that stay there also will see different birds like the Great Blue Turaco and more primates like the bush pigs, otters, baboons among others.

Day 8: Return to Kampala

After your breakfast, leave the park and drive to Kampala, where you will be in line to see beautiful scenic views found in this area. You will enjoy lunch on the way. Your driver guide will take to Kampala or to the Airport in Entebbe for your flight back home.

 
   

11 DAYS – ADVENTURE UGANDA SAFARI

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Have an early breakfast and transfer to Murchison Falls, along the way pass visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is home to rhinos. Have lunch in Masindi and embark on your journey to the park which is home to over 451 bird species and 76 mammal species via top of the falls. Relax at the lodge in the evening.

 

Day 2: Game drives and Launch cruise along the Nile

After a breakfast, set off for a game drive through the park where a lot of early risers will be seen such as Giraffes, leopards, lions, Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, bushbucks, among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and a rest as you get ready for the afternoon boat cruise along the Nile, the Victoria Nile divides the park into the northern and southern banks. On the boat you will spot other animals like Hippos, Crocodiles and different bird like the Pelican, Goliath Heroin, Kingfishers, and the rare shoebill.

The boat will leave you at the bottom of the magnificent falls a few meters from the Devils Cauldron here you will take enough photographs as continue with a hike to the top of these falls, enjoy the thunderous roars of the magnificent falls as they make their way through an 8m gorge and falling at 43m to meet again the Victoria Nile. Its a great time spent there watching the formed rainbows in the clouds of falling waters. Later meet your guide who will transfer you again to the lodge.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to Kibale Forest; you will take pleasure in the gorgeous scenery of this countryside which makes the journey more exciting. Have your lunch en route in Fortportal town and continue as you will have great vies of the Rwenzori ranges. Check in at your lodge.

Day 5: Game drive and Launch cruise

Have an early breakfast and set off for a game drive to look for wild animals such as lions, waterbucks, cape buffaloes, leopards, forest hogs, topis, warthogs, antelopes and others. Head back to the lodge and have lunch after in the afternoon, you will embark on the 2 hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel which joins lakes Edward and George. On the boat enjoy watching large schools of hippos and crocodiles among other animals and birds.

 

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

Drive to Bwindi through scenic region also referred to as The Switzerland of Africa via Ishasha. While in Ishasha it will be an added experience as you will see tree-climbing lions. Then proceed to the home of mountain Gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking day

Today be up early enough and take breakfast, have a short drive to the headquarters of the park where you will meet experienced park guides/rangers who will take you through a briefing about gorilla trekking. After start the hike in the mist forest to look for the gentle giants, the trackers to be physically fit since over 7,500 ft in altitude can be climbed. You are advised to carry enough water, packed lunch, sun glasses, hats, rain coats, water proof cameras without flashes. You will have a great time watching the mountain gorillas in this thick forest with only 1 hour is permitted to be with them. After the gorilla experience, your guide will drive you to stunning Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africas deepest lakes and famous for its beautiful scenery such as the terraced hills and 29 islands in water, it is also safe for swimming since it is Bilharzia free. 

Day 8: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. 

 

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

Early morning after breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo, a small but rich National park seated on an area of 371 sq km. Lake Mburo National Park is home to a big number of Zebras, antelopes, warthogs, reed bucks, oribis and a number of bird species. On your way, you will go through the rolling terraced hills of Kabale, having a stop in Mbarara for lunch -The land of milk and honey. After, continue reaching the park in the late afternoon. Have a 2 hour boat cruise on the lake and later have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day10: Safari walk and Transfer to Kampala

You will for an early nature walk. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, warthogs and antelopes living in their many natural habitats. Proceed with your journey to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Masaka and another at the Equator to take photos hence arriving Kampala in the late afternoon.

Day 11: Kampala City tour and transfer to Entebbe

In the morning after breakfast, go for a city tour, visit the amazing Kabaka’s Palace and Lake and also some craft shops to buy some crafts and souvenirs to take back home with you. After your driver will take you to Entebbe have lunch and proceed to the Airport for your flight back home.

GORILLA & SAVANNA SAFARI – 9 DAYS

 

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

After breakfast you will drive to Murchison falls national park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Trekking and then proceed to the top of the falls, thereafter continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs among others. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. You will have lunch en-route while on the way, you be enjoying the homesteads of Ugandans by passing the vehicle windows.

Day 4: Chimp Trekking

After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee trekking. The most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. After trekking you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland, after transfer to Queen Elizabeth.

Day 5: Game drive and launch cruise

An early morning go for a game drive in the Kasenyi sector, you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

 After your breakfast, Transfer to take a drive in Ishasha plains for your final visit with the lions and other wildlife continue to Bwindi.  The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Gorilla trekking

Prepare for early morning breakfast and report to the gorilla park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides and later head into the forest for Gorilla trekking. After the great experience of Mountain Gorillas, you will drive to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game drive

You will enjoy breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route in Mbarara town and proceed to Lake Mburo where on arrival, you will have a game drive where you will see Impalas, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, Zebra, buffalo and many more

Day 9: safari walk and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

Enjoy an early safari walk, during the walk you will explore the herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer, Zebra and buffalo also graze the area. Return to the lodge for the breakfast, then drive back to Kampala with a stopover at Equator for lunch and proceed to Entebbe airport for your flight.
